The Challenge
Sarah wanted to record a macro that selects B2:D10, applies Accounting Number Format to column C, converts column D to Short Date, then copies the range to Sheet2 starting at A1. Step 1: Try the obvious path (and why it fails)
Press Alt+F+T to open Excel Options. Go to ‘Customize Ribbon’. Look under ‘Main Tabs’. If ‘Developer’ is missing from the list — stop here. Don’t waste time clicking ‘Reset all customizations’. That won’t help. The checkbox is gone because Excel can’t load the VBA engine.
Step 2: Enable VBA via Trust Center (the real fix)

What Could Go Wrong
